*waves* Hello!
I am a 24 year old female pansexual. It has taken me what has felt like an eternity to accept this as a part of myself. It’s funny, but while I have always accepted people as they are, no matter their shape, colour, sexual orientation, dietary preferences, etc. But when it came to this part of myself, I struggled with accepting it. With getting to the “I’m okay” part of it all.
But, after all this time, I have recently accepted this. And it feels… Good.
When someone isn’t quite sure how to react when I tell them, I like to make a light joke about not discriminating when it comes to attraction and love. When you think about it, how could that ever be a bad thing? ;)
I just wanted to say to all those struggling with acceptance when it comes to themselves, just give yourself some time. Be patient with yourself. Because, something like this is big. It can be scary. But in the end, it should be a very positive thing. Never be ashamed of who you truly are inside, and never lie to yourself.
Because this is your life, and you only get to live it once.
Remember, you are not alone. And while I may not be an expert on anything, really, if you ever need to talk, message me! :)
I’ve been told that I’m a good listener.
Anyways, take care of yourselves and live the good life!

[Submitted by platinumspeed - tumblr screenshot of an anonymous question “so what exactly do you identify as? homosexual, bisexual, straight, etc. I’m rather confused.” patinumspeed’s answer is “I am simply a person who loves people. Nothing more, nothing less <3” and a photo of (presumably) them in a red top with a blue shirt over it and a yellow neck-scarf, smiling and holding a hand-coloured pansexual flag.]

pansexual comes from the greek prefix pan-, which translated means “all”.

Image of pansexual flag and the words “We all fall in love.” with a heart around the word ‘all’.unless you’re a pansexual aromantic but y’know
That’s a good point. I was just pleased it wasn’t a genderblind graphic and forgot about aromantic people. My bad.

“Pan” means all; “pansexual” means attraction to all genders. It’s not “I don’t see gender”. For a lot of people, it isn’t even “gender has no impact on how attracted I am to someone”. It’s fine if that’s what it means to someone, but it isn’t an accurate blanket statement.
Gender matters, and gender is important to a lot of people. We cannot ever, ever pretend that gender does not exist or that it is insignificant. It may be insignificant in your choice of partner, but that does not mean that you are blind to gender. Gender-blindness is only one step away from denying the existence of gender. Part of not being blind to gender is accepting that gender is very real, and that everything that comes along with gender -trans* struggles, privilege, dealing with sexism, preferred pronouns, etc.- are actually really important.”
thanks for this. i adore your brain!

Submit pictures etc!
I used to post to this blog from the pansexual and pansexuality tags
But recently they’re filled with
- Bisexual posts (I don’t really care if bisexual people say bisexuality includes non-binary people, or that the word bisexual is the umbrella term, this is a pan pride blog so bi pride is not relevant)
- Photos of people’s faces (I wouldn’t mind if there weren’t so many of them!)
- Posts from blogs with lesbian in the title (this just confuses me, why do so many people who ID as pansexual, ID as lesbian? So many as to fill the damn tag up?)
So, lovely followers, send me pictures of things that are pan flag colours, posts about pansexuality as it relates to yourself, quotes (except the genderblind type ones, I don’t like that those represent pansexuality, like we overlook genders and other people are obsessed with them) etc, whatever you think would be good to post here.

This is my pansexuality patch on my all-weather jacket. I should probably make another one, it’s pretty worn.
Image: a brown jacket with a tie dye patch sewn on. It looks home made. It’s the pansexual sign, dyed pink, yellow and blue.
